It seems that Putin has a hard time letting go of his KGB days. He said today that the fall of the Soviet Union was "the greatest geopolitical catestrophe of the century"

Damn, time to get out of there....But then on the next page he says that Russia should strive for democracy, but of a different flavour than that in the West.

Everyday Putin scares me alittle more, I think that if he had his way Russia would be a supe-power once more, and he would start teh Cold War all over again.

This should be a surprise to anyone. The Russian Federation is just one big kelptroacy. The soviet union still exsists it is just called the CIS, Commonwealth of independant states and Russia pretty much controls the majority of the countrys in and around its borders.

Putin has upped the arms race while at the same time restrcited oil and media development in Russia. However I do not know if their military build up is aimed at the U.S.A. or the fact, North Korea, China, Afghanistan etc are all around the Russian border.

He seems like he's a very capable person.
