Well it looks like the Nova Scotian government is looking at getting back into the sailing business. After all that has happened around the boat in recent years, the Ham government is thinking about letting the agreement expire and take back teh helm of the Bluenose II.

Good for them

Conservatives in Nova Scotia are strang at times. The private sector can handle the operations of the Bluenose II, there is no need for the government to get involved. What do a munch of politicans know about running a sail boat business...and why should the taxpayer be on the hook for it.

We, the province own the image, that should be enough.

Maybe so, but since the Bluenose has been caught up in the sponsorship scandal it looks bad on NS by association. When someone thinks of the Bluenose they think of NS by default. The only way that NS can protect that image is if it has a controlling interest in the actual living symbol. Just having rights to the "image" is not enough in this case.

The whole sponcership scandal was because of political direction on the prvate sector. Why should the taxpayer be on the hook for running a ship?

the orginal Bluenose was not run by the province and neither should number II
