I read about this a while back, crazy. I think that it is just Yahoo getting in bed with the Chinese government so that they can make some crazy money. Then again it might not be company policy but rather a "party" member who happens to work for Yahoo doing something "good " for the Communist party in power there.
I see the point that BBC raised, but all multi-national companies need to comply with laws and regulations in all countries, many of which do not serve the best interest of (innocent) private citizens.
