I'm thinking about getting a used bike. What's the best way to get one?

go to a bike repair shop and see if they have some old refurbished ones. It is the best way to go. In the world of bikes avoid sports and chain stores.

I say eBay... there's loads of that kind of stuff on there, and there's probably someone local to you selling one. It's amazing the kind of deals you can get on things that you are prepared to go and collect.
