The short list for the 2014 Canada Games was announced and Halifax is on it. Halifax has often bidded for the Canada games only to loose it because of lack of a stadium. However the city and the other levels of government are stuck in a catch 22. The other levels of government will only help out with a stadium if Halifax gets an event like the Canada Games, however events like that will not come to Halifax until it has a stadium.
Also since Halifax is up against places like Ottawa, Calgary and York, I don't think they stand a chance
