All of the people that we trust with our security are saying that Canada is going to be subject to something similar to what happened in London recently. Another thing that they are all saying is, not if, but when.

Now when I walk down the street, terrorism is the last thing on my mind. I am not too worried what the next guy is thinking, or what he has in his bag. I am mostly thinking about what I am going to have for supper that night.

I am curious however what everyone else thinks. Are you worried that one day you are going to step on a bus that someone is going to blow up? Or do you simply go on with your daily chores.

Now don't get me wrong, I do think that there are people out there that want to do us harm, but I am not going to let that affect the way that I live. It does me no good to stay in a bomb shelter for the rest of my life waiting for something to happen.

Sooner or later, Canada will have a terrorist attack. Because we live near the USA and have a large coast line and not so tight security. Sooner or later someone will do something. I don't not worry about it nor fear it. I never lived in Canada in a state thinking, oh we are safe no one will want to attack Canada. Which is a big pile of crap, all we can do is put more money into intelliegence gathering and emergency response and hope to catch some people before anything happens.

And even that will not be enough.

There is not way to catch everyone that may want to do you harm. However if we are prepared to deal with it when it happens through a very good emergency response team everyone will be much better off

Doubtful. Canada isn't exactly taking an active role in Iraq. We often hear that terrorists will attack anyone in any country with no mercy, but they are not taking their actions randomly. They have certain objective.

I still doubt it. There needs to be a reason for terrorists, and it's not that they have infinite amount of resources. Given the fact that they have limited amount of resources and they need to focus, they would probably try to attack US and/or UK. That's my guess ...

If people in Canada walk around believing that it will not happen to us then we are nuts. With militant groups eyeing Canada as an easy place to work out of, and the arctic waters opening up to traffic, it is a very short time until someone takes a shot at us to prove a point.

However the reason that terrorism works is because there isn't always an obvious reason. Sure the US and Britain were prime targets, but what other country that was involved in Afganistan is more, comfortable, laid back and oblivious to the actual danger of this world than Canada. that alone, the fact that Canada is percieved to be so friendly is a good reason to attack it. It will shake the World even more reatly than the attacks in Britan.
