Well speaking of exodus sans Jews and Egyptians. Belinda Stronach has left the conservatives, and in the past year Mr Brison has also left. This isnt good for the conservatives. 1. they have lost two very good MPs and 2. It is near confidance voting time.
Now I am not sure how this will upset the balance of the voting but it just might give the liberals the edge they needed. I believe the globe and mail said if all 3 independant mps were on aborad a confidance vote in the commons would dead lock it even at 153-153. So with the crossing we now have an edge 154-152...I think either way it tips the scales.
On top of these you have Stephen Harper who has gone from bright new change for politcis to grumpy asshole who seriously needs to get laid. And with Peter MacKay around for the long haul I doubt Belinda saw any real leadership future with the Torys. She has been totted in talking to former PMs a la Mulroney and hiring out of government advisors and now siding with Martin. I think it is very obvious she is grroming herself to become Prime Minister someday. With no real power house besides Martin in the party Belinda could become the successor someday.
Hmm I think that you may be right. You have to remember where she comes from. BIG business, and she had power. She will not be willing to sit in the sidelines for long. Also coming from big business might of been an advantage for Martin. He knows that side and probably used it to whoo her onto his side.
I heard on the New today that MacKay is back in NS. It seems that he took this Belinda thing pretty hard. Doesn't he realize that it is all part of the game, besides he has done some backstabbing himself, I would of thought he would be ready for something like this
