Well I suppose I shouldn't be too suprised, we do have a Conservative government.
However I think that if this is let to happen where will it start? Imagine what will happen to the Health Act if or when we get a Conservative government in Ottawa....We will have a system like the Brits, and we all know how well that two tier health system worked
Or may be we will have a system like Iceland, France, Sweden, the Neatherlands, Belgium, Germany, etc....

i think it is a good thing. If someone can afford the money to pay then let them go. I think its good also to encourage some doctors to stay and not to leave. Plus I doubt every dr will go into private pratice we will still have the ones who want to work in the OR.
All we have to do is ensure that the state pays for those that cannot afford healthcare. in Sweden, for example, a citizen can go to the public hospital and the state will pay, or they can go to the private clinic and the state will pay. There 99% of a funds are directed to the public system, yet the private system does 10% of the business. They spend less per capita than Canada and have shorter wait times, etc...

Well if it has worked in other places, why are people so afriad of it here. Personally I think that being so close to the US border people don't want to lose what we have. I think that the government must do more to educate the public that this isn't necessarily a bad idea. Because everyone knows I don't have the time to do it, especially since I would have to figure it out myself first
Since I haven't lived anywhere else I don't know how other systems work
