The Halifax Herald Writes:"The supposed joke is that the couple eat in the Town of Middleton and sleep in the Municipality of the County of Annapolis. "
According to this article, these two poor people have been fighting with the local governments about who to give their money too. They have had outside people prove that they are well on County Property, yet they still have to pay taxes to the town of Middleton.
I feel that this is VERY unfair to them. If there is proof that they are in the county, what does the money from ONE household compare to that of the rest of the town. The current mayor states that things are not as simple as they seem, but says nothing further. I think that this couple has been fighting over this for 30 years, and that this issue should be solved NOW.
