Press Releases: Pettigrew Forced to Cover PM's Backside

OTTAWA - Once again Minister of Foreign Affairs Pierre Pettigrew has been dragged forward to do damage control on Paul Martin's blunders according to Stockwell Day, Foreign Affairs Critic for the CPC Official Opposition.

The botched attempt by Paul Martin to dump Jean Chrétien’s appointment of Bhupinder Liddar to a consular post is one of the sleaziest and shabbiest examples of Martin cronyism yet according to Day.

"Now that Mr. Liddar has been fully cleared of any security issues he deserves more than a forced apology from Minister Pettigrew." Day continued, "Mr. Liddar was a victim of the small-minded acrimony and jealousy that continues between Martin and Chrétien. He is owed a full apology from Mr. Martin and an immediate reassignment to his consular position".
