2 Cape Breton Men in Jail in South KoreaPosted on Friday, March 25 @ 16:37:45 CST by capebretoner
To Cape Breton men found themselves behind bars after breaking a locals jaw outside a bar in South Korea. CBC picked up the story recently and there is an attempt to raise money for the two.
Also a website dedicated to legal issues for people teaching overseas picked up the story in their forums

Re: 2 Cape Breton Men in Jail in South Korea (Score: 1) by capebretoner on Friday, March 25 @ 16:48:18 CST (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.thepartylive.com | I have to mention some things that I have found about this since coming home. The two charged were teaching in South Korea WITHOUT a visa, and they are both very big, over 6' and 200lbs.
This means that no matter what the koreans were saying they had no worries about being hurt unless they were swarmed. Fighting is common in Canada and expected but in Korea it takes much more before a fight will actually break out. And finially the one that hit the local was lucky that he didn't do more damage than just breaking his jaw.
These two were stupid to even be in a bar since they were there illegally, and shouldn't expect much sympathy from the authorities over there. |
