The Conservative Party Purge

Okay so that is my solution to the conservative party, FIGHT winner takes all and give them big sticks I am male and I need some blood and violence to feed my ego. I am sure somewhere Paul Martin is laughing like an evil mad man knowing he has the Conservative party by the genitals and really there is nothing they can do, election? Why yes the Liberals will take an election right this instant.

The big idea behind the merger between the Alliance/Reform (insert music from deliverance) and the Progressive Conservatives (no body wants to play with us) was to accomplish something that hasn’t been done since 1993, defeat the Liberals in an election or become a real opposition. So far neither has happened; there are no smiles in Conservative land.

The problem is when it comes to Politics Canadians just don’t friggin care, so long as we can get Tim Horton’s, Beer, hard liquor NHL Hockey, Curling free health care and something isn’t blowing up no one cares. The Liberals are involved in a multi-million dollar ad scandal, and no one is really paying attention right now! The big problem lies in the fact no one has faith in the leadership of the party Stephen Harper seems to be lacking the power for that next step and Peter MacKay is almost unknown or cared about outside of Ontario, however he is their best chance of leading the Conservatives into the future.

The solution, a good old fashioned PURGE my friends, oh political purges are fun and make great TV unless you live in a happy republic who when actually purge political groups have them dragged into the street and shot for everyone to see on BBC world news every night. Yes a purge, no please do not ravage your ethnic minorities or Jewish populations not that kind of ruthless purge.

For a proper example of this purge we go across the Atlantic Ocean and look at Tony Blair. In the 1990s Mr. Blair took the helm of the Labor Party, a party that was broken apart fractured and basically the joke of British Politics. Mr. Blair came in and simply removed certain members and repackaged it the “new labor” party and look where it got him.

The Conservatives are still viewed as this hick outfit pro-gun, pro-military, anti-gay party, this coming from its Alliance past, and some occasionally outspoken members, this very weekend the Conservatives held a conference in Montreal where the Gay-Marriage issue came up again, and it is very obvious that the party is divided and that a potential power struggle is brewing. With Belinda, Stephen and Peter and others in the wings, it is pretty clear there is some butting of heads and ideology. Unless Stephen Harper gets an 80+% confidence vote this week you will see the Conservatives lose some votes and you will see the vultures begging to circle.

Whoever leads the conservatives has to get rid of some of the more radical members if they are going to appeal to the voters, right now its split between the Bloc, NDP and Green Party. Unless the Conservatives can get a proper game plan they will still be splitting a vote and the Liberals will keep control, cause for now it may say Conservative, but people still read Alliance – PC.

I still say big F#$king sticks is a better solution, my moneys on Peter, he plays rugby.
