Press Releases: Environment Canada Media Advisory"Minister Dion to Visit Northwest Territories and Nunavut"
OTTAWA, July 29, 2005 - The Honourable Stéphane Dion, Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, will be visiting the Northwest Territories and Nunavut from August 1 through August 4. Media representatives are advised that the Minister will be making an announcement on Monday August 1 related to Parks Canada, and an announcement on Tuesday August 2 related to Federal Contaminated Sites. On August 4, he will be involved in a media briefing related to Inuit Knowledge projects in Nunavut national parks. Other meetings and events are also planned. Details to follow.

Canada to host next major international meeting setting global course on climatePM News Release:

Prime Minister Paul Martin marked today’s entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol on climate change by announcing that Canada will host the Eleventh Conference of the Parties (CoP 11) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Montreal in early December 2005.

Prime Minister to attend NATO SummitPM News Release: February 18, 2005

Prime Minister Paul Martin announced today that he will participate in a Summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels, Belgium, on February 22, 2005. While at the Summit, the Prime Minister will discuss a new Canadian contribution toward the training of Iraqi security forces.
