It was released today that there are no worries about debris from an American booster hitting oil rigs off the coast of Newfoundland. Last week and earkier this week there were fears that the oil rigs would have to be evacuated prior to a launch in the case that something goes wrong and debris lands near the oil rigs.

Calls to Ban VLTs in NSApril 14, 2005
"Rodney MacDonald, minister responsible for health promotion, doesn't believe an all-out ban is necessary. "
There has been a strong push to ban VLTs in Nova Scotia. However this will not affect VLTs in the two Casinos and First Nations communities. This is NOT a the way to do things. It limits peoples right to spend their money as they please. However I do think that there should be regulations in place to prevent problem gamblers from hurting themselves.

2 Cape Breton Men in Jail in South KoreaTo Cape Breton men found themselves behind bars after breaking a locals jaw outside a bar in South Korea. CBC picked up the story recently and there is an attempt to raise money for the two.

HALIFAX – Police in Halifax say a man used a hypodermic needle to rob a pizza shop Wednesday night.
The man entered Mia's Pizza on North Street just before 10 p.m., and demanded some cash. He was given the money.
Then before he left, he asked for three slices of pizza. He was given that too.
Police are looking for a man who wore a green jacket, light green pants and a black toque.
